Question: Purchased two pennywort plants and they were genuine according to your photos, took about 3 months to grow to a reasonable size and was taking two leaves a day for about 2 months when suddenly they both started dying back and were dead within days.
Answer: Snails got to it or you may have had grubs in the soil that were eating the roots. Pennywort is very hardy but snails can eat all the leaves over night and kill the whole plants in the process.

Answer: Tell tale sign for slugs and snails!!!!! Go to check your plants in the night time with a torch and I am sure you will see slugs and snails.
Question: In recent times some of the leaves appear to have a rust type mark or stain on the leaf. It does not disappear when the leaf is washed. Is this a fungus?
Answer: Yes it is, pennywort gets this during certain times of the year and there is nothing you can do except: pull of the infected leaves, don't eat them and fertilise your plants.
Question: How can I overcome this problem. The plants are in a sunny position most of the day but avoid 2 - 3 hours of sun at midday. They are well drained and watered every day.
Answer: Sounds like the right position. I recommend to repot your plants and use the fertiliser recommended above and protect from slugs and snails.
Question: Tell me are Fo Ti Tieng and Gotu Kola the same herb or not. Because I've been to health stores and they have been selling two products from the same manufacturer, Fo Ti Tieng and Gotu Kola. Not just one or the other as you would expect. I would really appreciate a reply.
Answer: Yes, but Fo Ti TiengTM is a trade mark for Centella asiatica (Pennywort) in tablet form.

Answer: Two leaves a day the size of an Australian 50 cent coin (30mm in diameter) and you must eat them every day. If I only stop to take my 2 leaves of pennywort for 1 week, the swelling comes back, my finger aches and gets stiff.

Answer: You eat two fresh leaves every day. They can be eaten as they are or on a sandwich or in salads. Yes you can eat them dried, but fresh is best.
